Chiropractic Education

Dr. Melanie Bober attended Rochester Institute of Technology from 1979-1983 where she completed her pre-chiropractic education in science. In 1984 she began chiropractic college at Palmer College of Chiropractic-West. After 4 years of chiropractic education and internship, she moved to Arlington to establish a practice with her then fiance’, Dr. Les Peterson.

Dr. Les Peterson became a radiologic technologist in 1972. Once he completed his initial training he started back to college to gather his pre-med classes, first at the University of Nevada, and then Cabrillo College in California. While working his way through college, he herniated a disc lifting a patient with broken ankles up to the x-ray table. This led to his first experience with chiropractic, which changed the course of his life. “I was astonished at the good things chiropractors were doing to help people that I saw suffering without relief at the hospitals and medical clinics. It was like the greatest story never told.” He applied to Palmer College of Chiropractic-West the next year, and began classes in 1984, when he met the person that would change his life yet again, Dr. Melanie, his practice partner, and wife.

Practice Philosophy

“After 30 years each in practice, we have a lot of experience with a lot of ailments and our first goal is to give you and your family the care you need and deserve. We tailor care to meet your needs. We’ll tell you what we feel is best for you, but you are always in the driver’s seat. We respect each patient’s right to decide what kind of treatment they want for themselves and their families. Whether you have been injured in an auto accident, on the job, or playing with your dog, we will take your concerns seriously.”

About Us

Drs. Melanie and Les have 3 beautiful children, Michael, Savannah and Kenda. They love to hike, garden, and pretty much do anything out of doors in the Arlington-area. Dr. Les plays the guitar and Dr. Melanie enjoys photography and scrapbooking.

“Dr. Melanie and I both have sports and car crash injuries. Adjustments are a weekly event for us, and massage a monthly event. We stay active and pay a great deal of attention to nutrition. Our diet is whole foods, with organic produce, meats and dairy to the extent it is available. We consume supplements to increase our intake of omega 3 oils, anti-oxidants, and many research-backed anti-aging nutraceuticals. We have seen the benefits of an anti-inflammatory diet as part of treatment for pain control. For one, it can eliminate the need for anti-inflammatory drugs. We love life and want to enjoy as much of it as we can without pain, and we want that for our patients.”

“We are both great listeners and hope we get the opportunity to meet you in person and discuss your specific health challenge. Give our Arlington office a call or email me.”
